Alright, you’re getting ready for next dental appointment and you’re fairly certain that you have everything you need to make sure things go smoothly. What’s that? You aren’t at all certain of that? Well, rest easy! For all that going to the dentist can be stressful for some people there are things that you can do to ensure that you don’t run into any unexpected complications on the way there. It takes a little preparation ahead of time, and maybe a checklist of exactly what you’ll need. Thankfully, we’ve got exactly that kind of checklist for you right here!
The Parts Of A Smooth Dental Visit
When you’re getting ready for a dental visit this little checklist can help you make sure you have everything that you need, and that you’ve done what you need to do to prepare for the day ahead. The first thing you should do is make yourself a hand list. “What needs to be on it?” we hear you ask? Good question!
• Medical Information – Make sure you have any necessary medical information conveniently available so you can have it ready for the day of the appointment. Even better, stash it in the glove compartment of the vehicle you’ll be taking, or in your purse or satchel if possible. If it’s your first visit you want to make sure they have your whole medical history, which is most easily accomplished by calling the office and filling out the necessary forms to allow this information to be provided.
• Fill Out Patient Admission Form – If you’ve been to the office before, this part can easily be done when you get there. If it’s convenient to do so, however, you should pick it up and fill it out at home to make sure it’s properly filled out and in hand when you arrive. If it’s your first visit you should definitely do this, as the forms tend to be longer and more involved.
• Verify The Appointment – Right now, as you’re writing this list down, call your dentists office or check your paperwork to ensure you have the right date. Then, on the day before the appointment, give the office a call, and again on the morning of. Seem like overkill? It’s better than arriving at the office to find out your dentist had an emergency and canceled your appointment or that it’s the wrong day.
On the day of the appointment be sure to give yourself sufficient time to get to the dentist’s office. Arriving on time is great, but getting there 15-30 minutes early is even better, and can even improve the chances that your appointment will happen on time and you’ll be able to get back to your day quickly.
If you’re scheduling your next appointment pick up the phone and give Dr. Reynaldo Barbon at Superb Dental Care in Pasadena, CA and get things handled ahead of time.
